Meet Emma Faller and Nicolaj Thomsen—a Copenhagen-based couple, recent parents to Erik, and the warmest hosts in their cozy Christianshavn apartment. Their home exemplifies a deep appreciation for quality, care, and timeless design, reflecting the way they approach life.  

IN CONVERSATION WITH 
EMMA FALLER & NICOLAJ THOMSEN

Q: Who are you and what do you do?


A:
 " We're Emma and Nicolaj. We live in Copenhagen with our one-year-old son, Erik. Nicolaj plays football for the Danish team B.93 and is co-owner of Another Aspect, a Danish fashion brand. I, Emma, am currently studying graphic design."

Q: how did you first connect with Maalouf?


A:
 "A few years ago, Another Aspect held an "Anti-Black Friday" event in their store, where upcoming brands, with another agenda, borrowed the space for a day.
Maalouf was one of them."

Q: In a world that often feels fast-paced and unpredictable, how do you approach the things you buy and hold onto?

A:
 "We’ve completely stopped buying from the big fast-fashion brands. It’s simply not an option in the world we live in. We also try to buy only things we know we’ll keep and love for a long time. It’s been a journey, and we’ve definitely consumed way too much in the past, but we’re getting better and better every day."

Q: What is your earliest underwear memory?


A:
 "For Nico, it has been the silky boxer shorts peeking out from his jeans, hanging way too low during his early teenage years."

Q: What has been your underwear journey?


A:
 "For Nico, the older he gets, the shorter the underpants become. For me (Emma), it’s quite the opposite...- haha."

Q: Is there such a thing as a perfect piece?


A: 
"That’s a tough one, but we have to say — you’re getting close."




Q: Do you wear underwear as outerwear?

A:
 "All summer long. The whole family does."

Q: Do you have going out underwear?


A:
 "Whether going out or staying in, you always need a good base layer."

Q: Has there been an occasion where the underwear made you fall in love with someone?


A:
 "I don't know if you’ve seen the new Calvin Klein campaign with the artist Bad Bunny?"

Q: Is there a piece of art, film or literature that you remember because of the underwear?


A:
 "Borat? (Let’s hope Nicolaj never goes that short.)"

Last but not less important…

Q: What is a perfect meal or dish to be enjoyed when you are just in your underwear?


A:
 "Anything from room service, accompanied by champagne."
