PHILOSOPHY —

Our philosophy is simple yet profound—we believe in moving beyond the traditional fashion calendar. Instead of following seasons, we introduce new garments based on quality or style.

All our garments are made from 100% organic unbleached cotton; encapsulating what MAALOUF stands for: timeless pieces of the highest quality.

We aim to lead the much-needed transformation of the fashion industry with a business model designed to minimize waste, avoid excess inventory, and reduce unnecessary transport, ensuring that we operate both responsible and innovative.

OUR PARTNERS —

At MAALOUF, all garments are made in the Swabian Alb region of southern Germany, an area with a rich textile heritage.

Our entire production chain—fabric mills, sewing, and label production—is located within a small radius of 5-10 km, which helps minimize freight and significantly reduce CO2 emissions, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.

We partner with producers who share our core values of preserving tradition while ensuring high-quality production that is both environmentally and socially responsible.

ORIGINAL CIRCULAR KNITTING MACHINES —

The fabrics we use at MAALOUF are produced on machines that are partly museum-worthy.
The original circular knitting machines ("round stools") date back to 1900-1960, making them older than the workers who operate them.

These machines are powered by a single electric motor that spins around a long shaft. Leather straps transfer the energy to the machines, reducing energy costs to a minimum with maximum efficiency.

It's a slower process compared to modern knitting machines, but the difference in quality is truly noticeable. When the weather allows, the fabrics are hung outside to dry.
